Piz Tremoggia

Piz Tremoggia is a summit that sits on the border between Switzerland and Italy, rising between Val Fex in Graubünden and Val Malenco in Lombardy. The peak reaches about 3,441 meters and serves as a natural meeting point for hikers from both countries.

The mountain became a significant landmark when the Switzerland-Italy border was established in the region. This geographical position made it an important feature in the alpine cartography of both nations.

Local mountaineering groups from both Switzerland and Italy regularly organize expeditions to Piz Tremoggia, fostering international connections through alpine activities.

The climb is possible from multiple routes on both sides of the border, with a shelter available near the summit area. Mountain experience is recommended as the trails are demanding and weather can change quickly in this region.

On clear days, visitors can see more than two dozen neighboring peaks in the Bernina Range from the summit. This vast mountain panorama makes the location popular with photographers and nature enthusiasts.
