Nanpu Bridge, Cable-stayed bridge in Shanghai, China

A dual-tower bridge spans 760 meters across the Huangpu River, connecting Shanghai's Huangpu District with the Pudong New Area through six traffic lanes.

The bridge construction started in December 1988 and concluded in December 1991, marking Shanghai's first major crossing over the Huangpu River at a cost of 820 million yuan.

The bridge structure incorporates traditional Chinese design elements with its H-shaped towers reaching 150 meters, representing a dragon rising from the water.

The bridge serves as a vital component of Shanghai's Inner Ring Elevated Road network, accommodating vehicles at speeds up to 60 kilometers per hour.

The bridge features 438 steel beams in its main deck structure, with individual beams weighing up to 80 tons, setting records for bridge construction in China.
