Yabuli Ski Resort, Ski resort in Daqingshan Yabuli, China.
Yabuli Ski Resort is a winter sports complex in Daqingshan, Heilongjiang province, with slopes spread across three separate areas and runs suited to all skill levels. The resort also has on-site lodging, equipment rental, and training facilities to support visitors throughout their stay.
The resort was developed in the 1980s as China's first professional ski center, built to train competitive athletes and promote winter sports across the country. Hosting the 1996 Asian Winter Games brought it wider recognition and triggered a series of upgrades to its facilities.
Yabuli Ski Resort is widely seen as the home of modern skiing in northeastern China, where city visitors often experience snow sports for the first time. On weekends, the slopes fill with groups from Harbin and other nearby cities, giving the place a lively, social feel.
The resort sits roughly 125 miles (200 km) east of Harbin, making it most easily reached by train or hired car from that city. Visiting outside Chinese school holidays and national holidays helps avoid crowded slopes and longer wait times at lifts.
The resort is home to China's largest ski jumping facility, built to meet international competition standards. A covered indoor training hall on the grounds allows athletes to practice year-round, even when there is no snow on the slopes.
