Jing'an Temple station, Metro station in Jing'an District, China
Jing'an Temple station is a metro hub beneath Nanjing West Road in Jing'an District serving Lines 2, 7, and 14 with three island platforms. The station has 15 different entrances and exits distributed around the intersection of Nanjing West Road and Huashan Road.
The station opened on September 20, 1999, as part of Line 2's initial section of Shanghai's early metro network. It served as one of the first major transfer points built into the city's rapid transit system from the start.
The station connects directly to the Jing'an Temple and Jiu Guang shopping center through underground passages. Visitors can move between the Buddhist site and commercial shops without going above ground.
The network of many entrances helps visitors reach different street-level areas and nearby buildings easily. During rush hours, some exits can become crowded, so exploring different routes beforehand can be helpful.
Airport shuttle buses from this station connect to both Hongqiao and Pudong airports, providing a direct link for travelers entering or leaving the city. This service makes the station a key point for airport access across the Shanghai metro system.
