Jiangling County spans across multiple towns including Zishi, Xionghe, Baimasi, and Shagang, with a population reaching 468,276 according to the 2020 census.
The region served as a provincial capital during the Liang Dynasty when Governor Xiao Yi established his base there, leading to significant political developments in 553.
The county maintains traditional agricultural practices across its management areas of Sanhu and Liuheyuan, incorporating local customs into farming methods.
