Guanghua Temple, Buddhist temple in Chengxiang District, China
The Guanghua Temple stands at the foot of Mount Phoenix, featuring multiple halls, pavilions, and a prominent stone staircase leading to its main structures.
Founded in 558 CE as Jinxian Monastery, the temple received its current name from Emperor Wen of the Sui dynasty in 589 CE.
The temple maintains a community of 250 resident monks who practice traditional Buddhist ceremonies and provide religious education to visitors and practitioners.
The temple complex includes the Memorial Arch, Fangsheng Pool, Gaoshan Gate, Tianwang Palace, Mahavira Hall, and multiple specialized worship spaces.
Between 1966 and 1976, the temple functioned as a factory, leading to the loss of numerous religious artifacts before its restoration in 1979.
