Lingshan Islamic Cemetery

Lingshan Islamic Cemetery is a burial site located at the foot of Lingshan mountain in Fujian. The grounds contain traditional graves and stone monuments arranged systematically across the landscape.

The cemetery dates back to the maritime trade period of the Song and Yuan dynasties, when Islam reached China through trade routes. Two important Islamic teachers are said to be buried here.

The cemetery shows how Islamic burial customs and Chinese design traditions come together in one place. You can see this in the way the graves are arranged and in the patterns carved into the stone markers.

The cemetery is located in central Quanzhou and is easy to reach by public bus. Visitors should allow time to walk through the different sections and appreciate the full layout of the grounds.

The cemetery has retained its original layout and structure since the Song and Yuan period. This makes it one of the few places where Islamic burial traditions have been preserved unchanged for centuries.
