Baishuitai, Natural limestone terraces in Yunnan Province, China

The white limestone formations span 140 meters in height and 160 meters in width, creating cascading water terraces at 2380 meters elevation.

The terraces formed over thousands of years through calcium carbonate deposits from spring waters flowing down from Ha-Ba Snow Mountain.

The site holds importance for the Naxi ethnic minority, who gather annually on February 8th according to the lunar calendar for the Er-Yue-Ba festival.

Visitors can reach Baishuitai by taking one of two daily buses from Shangri-La City, departing at 9:30 AM and 2:00 PM for 26 RMB.

Water flows through natural channels across white marble-like steps, forming one of the largest limestone terrace formations in China.
