Braemar Hill, Hill with observation point in Eastern District, Hong Kong.
Braemar Hill is a hill in Eastern District where the summit reaches about 200 meters and opens onto sweeping views across the harbor. From the top you can see the full expanse of Victoria Harbor, with skyscrapers lining both Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula.
The hill gained public attention in 1985 when a tragic incident involving students from Island School occurred, leading to increased security measures in the area. This event shaped how people viewed the location going forward.
The place was named Red Incense Burner Summit by people living nearby, inspired by the distinctive rock formations visible at the hilltop.
You reach the summit by taking the Green Minibus 25 from Causeway Bay to the Braemar Hill terminus, then following marked paths upward. The walk takes about ten minutes and the trails are clearly marked, making it easy to find your way.
The summit features several large boulders that serve as natural seating areas, offering an ideal spot to watch the light change from day to evening. These stones encourage visitors to linger and experience the surroundings in different lighting.
