Monument to the People's Heroes, Memorial tower at the Bund waterfront in Shanghai, China
The Shanghai People's Heroes Memorial Tower rises 24 meters high with three concrete structures designed to represent rifles standing together at the confluence of two rivers.
The Shanghai Municipal People's Government built this memorial in 1993 to honor revolutionary martyrs and victims of natural disasters throughout Chinese history.
The monument represents Chinese dedication to remembering sacrifices through its architectural design, combining modern elements with traditional memorial concepts.
Located in Huangpu Park at the northern end of the Bund, visitors can access the memorial while exploring other landmarks along Shanghai's waterfront.
The memorial tower stands at the exact point where Suzhou Creek merges with Huangpu River, creating a symbolic meeting point of Shanghai's two main waterways.
