Macau Government Headquarters

Macau Government Headquarters is a two-story pink building with white details located in São Lourenço. It features three wings, a lotus conference room, and extensive gardens with fountains that face Nam Van Lake.

The building was constructed in 1849 by architect Tomás de Aquino for Baron do Cercal. It served as a residence for Portuguese governors until the handover to China in 1999.

The building blends Portuguese and Chinese design elements throughout its rooms and gardens. This mixture reflects Macau's history as a trading post where two cultures lived side by side for centuries.

The headquarters opens to the public twice per year, allowing visitors to explore both interior spaces and exterior grounds. Plan ahead to match your visit with the available opening dates.
