Kowloon West II Battery

Kowloon West II Battery is a colonial-era artillery installation located within Kowloon Park, featuring earthwork fortifications and gun emplacements built into the landscape. The site is surrounded by green spaces that integrate the military structures into the park's natural environment.

The battery was built during British colonial rule to protect Hong Kong's harbor as part of a wider coastal defense network. It dates to the period when Britain was militarily consolidating its control over the region.

Original naval guns were discovered during excavations and remain visible at the site today. The former gun emplacements were cleverly converted into a children's playground, blending the historical structures with modern recreational use.
