Jat Min Chuen, Public housing estate in Sha Tin District, Hong Kong.

Jat Min Chuen is a residential complex in Sha Tin comprising three tower blocks named Ming Yan Lau, Ming Shun Lau, and Ming Yiu Lau, each rising to 32 floors. The buildings form a connected residential community with typical public housing design and shared facilities.

Construction took place between 1981 and 1982, financed through bank loans rather than government funding, marking a different development approach for public housing. This alternative financing method represented an experiment in how Hong Kong could expand its housing supply.

The complex takes its name from Tan Jat Min, a former treasurer of the Hong Kong Housing Society, reflecting how the community honored its leaders. This naming practice connects the place to the people who shaped its creation.

The complex sits within walking distance of Sha Tin MTR station and Che Kung Temple Station, offering residents multiple transit connections. The nearby stations make it straightforward to reach other parts of the city.

The complex stands as the only housing estate in Sha Tin District operated by the Hong Kong Housing Society, setting it apart from other public housing developments in the area. This distinction reflects the organization's role in housing provision alongside government efforts.
