Former Hollywood Road Police Married Quarters, Creative arts complex in Central, Hong Kong.
The former police quarters consist of two seven-story blocks named Staunton and Hollywood, located in Central. The buildings blend the original structure with modern additions including a rooftop garden and glass ceiling.
The building was constructed in 1951 on land that formerly held Queen's College from 1889. It served as housing for married junior police officers until it closed in 2000.
Today, more than 100 galleries, design studios, and creative businesses occupy the renovated spaces, shaping how contemporary art is made and shown in the city. Artists and designers have made this place a working hub where their creations develop and are shared with visitors.
Free guided tours explain the complex's history and show an underground tunnel with remnants of the former Victoria College foundations. Visitors can wander through the open spaces and explore the different studios and galleries at their own pace.
Two former residents, C.Y. Leung and Donald Tsang, later became top leaders of Hong Kong. Their time living here shaped part of their early careers before they reached the highest levels of power.
