五泉山建筑群, Historical architectural complex in Lanzhou, China

The Wuquanshan Architectural Complex comprises 25 groups of buildings within Wuquanshan Park in Chengguan District, Lanzhou, Gansu. These include the Zhuangyan Temple and Junyuan Temple complexes, Erlang Temple, Wenchang Palace, Dabeidian Hall, Wuhou Shrine, Dizang Temple, Reclining Buddha Hall, Mani Temple, Jiuxian Shrine, Qianfo Pavilion, Sanjiao Cave, Qingxu Mansion, Wanyuan Pavilion, Qingyun Ladder, a wooden archway, the mountain gate, Banyue Pavilion, Qi Bridge, Qin Gong Temple, Taihao Palace, Ziwu Pavilion, Bagua Terrace, Chengbi Dicui Waterside Pavilion and Yilan Pavilion, with a total floor area of 10,000 square metres.

The complex was first built in the Yuan dynasty, then enlarged and repaired repeatedly under the Ming and Qing dynasties and during the Republican period. It now comprises 25 groups of buildings, including the Zhuangyan and Junyuan temple compounds, Wenchang Palace, Taihao Palace and the Qingyun ladder. In 2013 it was listed in the seventh batch of Major Historical and Cultural Sites Protected at the National Level.

The complex holds 25 building groups, among them the Wenchang Palace, where students pray for success in exams, and the Jiu Xian (Nine Immortals) complex, visited for blessings of health and long life. The Wuhou Temple honours the strategist Zhuge Liang, and the Qin Gong Temple the legendary emperor Qin Shi Huang.

The site sits on a mountainside, so wear comfortable shoes and expect many staircases during your visit. The best times to come are during milder months when paths are dry and temperatures are not too extreme.

The complex comprises 25 building groups covering 10,000 square metres, among them the Wanyuan Pavilion, the Qingyun Ladder stairway, the Bagua Terrace and the Chengbi Dicui waterside pavilion. It was listed in 2013 in the seventh batch of Major Historical and Cultural Sites Protected at the National Level.
