Huxi Mosque

Huxi Mosque is a two-story prayer hall in Putuo District featuring a distinctive fan-shaped roof and six domes. The building houses classrooms, administrative offices, accommodation spaces, and ritual areas for the community.

The structure was first built in 1922 as Yaoshuinong Mosque on Xikang Road. It relocated to its present site on Changde Road in 1994 to better serve the expanding community.

The mosque serves as a gathering place for Shanghai's Muslim community where people come for daily prayers and social connections. It shapes the neighborhood's character with its distinctive design and remains an active center for religious life.

The mosque sits on Lane 3 of Changde Road and is easily accessible from the street. Visitors should know it remains an active place of worship, so checking appropriate visiting times beforehand is advisable.

A 25-meter minaret rises prominently above the roofline and is visible from several blocks away. This distinctive tower blends Arabic and Chinese design elements to create a recognizable landmark in the urban landscape.
