St. Sebaldus, Gothic church in Nuremberg, Germany
The medieval church features two prominent towers on either side of the main entrance, with stone carvings decorating the exterior walls and multiple stained glass windows.
Construction of St. Sebaldus Church began in 1225 as a Romanesque basilica, and subsequent modifications introduced Gothic elements between 1358 and 1379.
The church interior contains the preserved Shrine of St. Sebaldus and works by artist Veit Stoss, representing medieval German religious art and craftsmanship.
The church stands at Albrecht-Dürer-Platz near the old city hall, with regular opening hours and guided tours available for visitors throughout the week.
Two original organs from the 14th and 15th centuries remained functional until World War II, marking a significant period in medieval musical instrument construction.
