Ehrenfeld

Ehrenfeld is a city district in Cologne made up of several neighborhoods with a mix of residential and commercial buildings. The area is characterized by changing architecture from different periods, ranging from early industrial structures to modern housing.

In the 19th century, the region transformed from farmland into an industrial and residential area. Its annexation to Cologne in 1888 brought increased urbanization and economic change.

Two remarkable industrial monuments from the 19th century define the area: the historic 4711 perfume factory and the Helios lighthouse. These structures recall the region's economic boom and are valued landmarks today.
