The Imperial Palace features a grand hall spanning 800 square meters with elaborate paintings depicting scenes from the Holy Roman Empire's history.
German emperors and kings resided at this palace between 1040 and 1253, conducting major political assemblies and court meetings within its chambers.
The palace chapel of Saint Ulrich contains the preserved heart of Emperor Henry III beneath a memorial stone inside its medieval walls.
Visitors can join hourly guided tours of the palace complex from 10:00 to 17:00 during summer and 10:00 to 16:00 in winter.
The palace houses the medieval Kaiserstuhl throne, crafted from Rammelsberg ore, representing the seat of German imperial power through centuries.
