SWT-Arena, multi-purpose hall

The SWT-Arena is a large multi-purpose hall in Trier used for concerts, sports events, and community gatherings. Inside, it features an open floor plan with high ceilings and capacity for thousands of visitors, complete with a modern sound and lighting system, cafeterias, and restroom facilities.

The Arena Trier opened in 2003 as the home venue of the basketball club TBB Trier, whose era ended with the club's insolvency at the close of the 2014/15 season; the Gladiators Trier succeeded it from 2015/16. The women's handball team DJK/MJC Trier also played its home matches here until 2019. On 1 July 2023 the hall was renamed SWT-Arena after the Stadtwerke Trier agreed an intensified cooperation with the city's trade-fair and event sector, initially for five years.

The hall was called Arena Trier from its 2003 opening until 1 July 2023, when a five-year partnership with the municipal utility Stadtwerke Trier gave it the name SWT-Arena. The Gladiators Trier basketball team and the OK54 citizen broadcaster have offices in the side rooms, and the small hall holds a climbing wall. Jehovah's Witnesses have held congresses here in 2013, 2015 and 2023–2026.

The main hall seats about 4,500 and holds up to roughly 8,000 spectators; the interior can be divided and fitted with retractable stands. A side hall contains a climbing wall and serves as catering and technical space during large events. The operators' office, the Gladiators Trier fan shop, the bistro "Front of House" and the OK54 studio are in the adjoining rooms.

The arena's record attendance is 8,200, set by Xavier Naidoo. The main hall can be divided into several sections with retractable stands, and the side hall holds a climbing wall; it also serves as catering and technical space during major events.
