Capitol Theater, Entertainment venue in Flingern, Germany
Capitol Theater is a theatre in the Flingern district of Düsseldorf, housed in a brick building with a large main auditorium and a smaller club section. The main hall holds around 1,250 seats, while the club space can take up to 500 guests.
The building was originally used as a tram depot near Düsseldorf's main railway station. In 1994, it was converted into a theatre, with much of the industrial structure of the old depot kept visible.
The Capitol Theater sits in the Flingern neighborhood and draws a mixed crowd, from musical fans to comedy lovers. On show nights, the foyer fills with people from across the city, giving the place an energy that feels more like a meeting point than just a venue.
The entrance is on Erkrather Straße, and the building is fully accessible for wheelchair users throughout. It is worth checking the program in advance, as the schedule covers a wide range of genres and formats.
The club section can be fully reconfigured for gala dinners, fashion shows, conferences, or photo sessions, making it one of the most flexible event spaces in the city. This adaptability was built into the original conversion plan from 1994.
