Heckberg, Mountain peak in Much, Germany

Heckberg is a mountain ridge in the Much area with a height of 383.4 meters and two wooded peaks. These summits are separated by a saddle and together form an interesting landscape feature.

Mining for lead and silver took place on Heckberg starting in the 13th century at the Grube Silberkaule site. Operations continued there until 1892.

The name Heckberg connects to an old trade route that once brought merchants across this peak. Today hikers follow similar paths that now carry names like the Elisabethpfad.

The mountain is accessible via several hiking routes that pass through forests, meadows, and small villages. The paths offer a good mix of paved and unpaved sections to suit different preferences.

A former military radio transmission station stands between the two peaks, now part of the landscape's heritage. This structure reflects the mountain's more recent technological past.
