Heiligenberg, Mountain summit in Heidelberg, Germany

The Heiligenberg rises to 440 meters above sea level, featuring dense forest coverage and multiple walking paths across its slopes.

Archaeological findings reveal continuous human presence since 5500 BCE, including Celtic settlements and Roman religious structures on the mountain.

The mountain holds two medieval monastery ruins, St. Michael and St. Stephen, representing significant religious heritage from the Middle Ages.

Visitors can access the summit through several marked hiking trails, with parking facilities available at the base of the mountain.

The mountain houses a 1930s open-air theater, the Heidelberg Thingstätte, which seats 8,000 people in its amphitheater structure.
