Dominikanerkloster Koblenz, Former Dominican monastery in Koblenz, Germany
The Dominican monastery stands in the White Lane district of Koblenz, featuring a preserved Rococo portal crafted from red sandstone in 1754.
The monastery began its religious services at Easter 1233, and after a major fire in 1245, the church was completed in 1260 as one of the Rhine's first Gothic buildings.
Notable members of the monastery included Johann Schadland, Heinrich Kalteisen, and Heinrich von Rübenach, whose gravestone remains in Koblenz City Hall.
The monastery site contains a memorial stone in the schoolyard, marking the location of the former church choir and commemorating the building's religious legacy.
Following severe damage during the 1688 French siege of Koblenz, the monastery transformed into a military hospital in 1793 during the First Coalition War.
