Hochbunker Lerchenauer Straße, Air raid shelter in Milbertshofen, Germany
Hochbunker Lerchenauer Straße is a five-story circular tower with a flat roof located in Munich's Milbertshofen district. The exterior walls are clad with stone panels, and the structure appears as a sturdy, fortress-like column in the urban landscape.
The bunker was built in 1941 following designs by architect Karl Meitinger as a civil defense structure during World War II. It was designed to shelter around 450 people and stood near the former Oberwiesenfeld airfield.
The structure represents a notable example of German civil defense architecture and maintains status as an architectural heritage monument in Bavaria.
