Volante, Automobile museum in Kirchzarten, Germany
Volante was an automobile museum housed in a converted tennis hall with expansive windows opening toward the Mangusta restaurant. The exhibition space showcased rotating collections of classic and sports cars spanning multiple decades.
The museum opened in October 2015 and operated for five years before closing in October 2020 due to pandemic restrictions. The venue had displayed vehicles from previous decades during its active period.
The exhibition space presented yearly thematic displays of automobiles, including sports cars from the 1960s and 1970s during its first season.
The spacious building could accommodate many visitors at once, with different areas for exhibitions and events. The large windows provided good visibility of the displayed vehicles and created a bright, open atmosphere throughout the space.
The museum held the world's largest collection of vehicles from French coachbuilder Vanvooren, with nine examples on display. These rare automotive works were a significant draw for enthusiasts of classic automotive craftsmanship.
