Winzerberg in Potsdam, Germany

Winzerberg is a terraced vineyard near Sanssouci Palace in Potsdam. The site consists of multiple stepped levels supported by sturdy stone walls that rise steeply across the hillside.

The vineyard was established in 1763 by Frederick II to grow fruit for the royal court. Later renovations in the late 1700s reinforced and reshaped the terraced structure.

The site hosts regular Bacchusstunde events during summer months, offering visitors opportunities to experience wine culture through tastings and concerts.

Access to the vineyard is on foot from the Sanssouci Palace grounds, reached via local pathways. Wear sturdy shoes since the steps and paths are uneven and can be steep in places.

A triumphal arch from the 1800s stands at the entrance, giving the place a classical appearance. This architectural addition came many years after the vineyard was first planted and visitors often walk past it without noticing.
