Azoria, Archaeological site on a hill near Kavousi, Crete.

The settlement extends across a double-peaked hill, featuring public buildings, storage rooms, a temple, and pathways leading to a central agora.

Archaeological excavations initiated by Harriet Boyd in 1900 revealed structures dating from the Neolithic Age through the 5th century BC, when fire destroyed the city.

The site contains a Communal Dining Building where male citizens gathered for organized meals, and a Monumental Civic Building used for public ceremonies.

Visitors can explore multiple archaeological layers, including ancient architectural remains, storage facilities, and an early olive press installation from the post-Bronze Age period.

The archaeological complex houses the earliest documented beam press in the post-Bronze Age Aegean, complete with original olive processing components.
