Long Beach

Long Beach stretches for 5 kilometers along the Cretan coastline, featuring a mix of coarse grey sand and fine pebbles beside the Libyan Sea.

The beach area underwent gradual development starting in the 1970s, transforming from an untouched coastal strip into a partially organized beach destination.

During autumn, protected white sand lilies emerge across the beach landscape, marking a natural transition between summer and fall seasons in Cretan tradition.

The eastern section provides beach facilities including sun loungers, umbrellas, and a canteen, while maintaining numerous untouched areas along its extensive shoreline.

The beach presents a natural phenomenon where walking through the shallow waters leaves feet clean from fine pebbles, unlike the coarse sand on the shore.
