Temple of Athena Pronaia, Ancient Greek temple in Delphi, Greece.
The Temple of Athena Pronaia stands on a terrace with thirty-six Doric columns arranged in a 6x12 pattern at the entrance of Delphi archaeological site.
The original temple endured damage in 480 BCE when falling rocks halted Persian forces, followed by additional destruction from an earthquake in 373 BCE.
The temple complex contains multiple structures dedicated to Athena, who protected her half-brother Apollo's territory according to Greek religious traditions.
Two original columns remain standing at the site, which visitors can access through the main archaeological complex of Delphi.
The sanctuary includes a circular Tholos building with twenty exterior Doric columns made from white Pentelic marble set on dark Eleusis stone.
