Dupiani, Rock formation in Kalabaka, Greece.

Dupiani is a rock of the Meteora formation in Thessaly, standing within the village of Kastraki beside hotels and restaurants. On it stands the katholikon of the Skete of the Holy Virgin of Dupiani, a church founded in 1347 that survives with some of its frescoes; the original monastery buildings do not. Ruins of the Monastery of the Pantocrator, including its tower and walls, lie on the northern side.

The Skete of the Holy Virgin was founded in 1347 by Hieromonk Nil as the first monastic settlement in Meteora. Major renovations of the main church happened in 1867 and again in 1974.

The monastery preserves Orthodox Christian traditions through its frescoes and religious artworks visible inside. These sacred images show how monks lived their spiritual lives on the rock.

The rock sits near Kastraki village, where you can find places to sleep and eat. From there, you can walk to the formation on visible trails that lead up to the church.

The Skete of the Holy Virgin of Dupiani, founded in 1347 by Hieromonk Nil, is considered the first monastery in Meteora. Its katholikon still stands with frescoes inside, while the original monastic buildings did not survive. The ruins of the Pantocrator Monastery on the northern side still show a tower and walls; its abbot Serapion is recorded in 1426.
