Pinéa

Pinéa is a mountain summit in the Chartreuse range, reaching 1771 meters and offering views across the surrounding peaks. The top lies at the end of a long walk that passes through different elevations and terrain types.

The hiking paths to the summit were established during the 19th century when mountain activities expanded across the region. These early trails continue to form the routes that visitors follow today.

The Chartreuse massif serves as a traditional hiking destination for people from Grenoble seeking mountain experiences across all seasons. The routes here reflect generations of local mountain culture and outdoor tradition.

The route starts at Col de Porte and follows the yellow-red trail markings of the GRP Tour de Chartreuse. The walk takes several hours and calls for normal hiking experience and appropriate footwear.

The final section of the climb passes through exposed passages along a western cliff edge. These airy stretches demand careful footing and reward cautious climbers with direct contact to the rock face.
