Disney Adventure World, Theme park in Chessy, France
Disney Adventure World is a theme park in Chessy near Paris that includes multiple areas with rides and attractions based on film, animation, and adventure stories. The park connects classic Disney worlds with modern experiences and offers shows, recreated film sets, and interactive installations for visitors of all ages.
The park opened in March 2002 as the second attraction of the Disneyland Paris resort and expanded the offering with film-based themes. New areas were added over the following years, evolving the experience and incorporating recent productions.
The entrance square is named Place des Frères Lumière after the Lyon brothers who invented cinema, and it holds a fountain inspired by Fantasia. From 2002 to 2025 the covered street Disney Studio 1 simulated a production hangar staging a fictional Hollywood Boulevard, with deliberately fake trompe-l'œil sets. The park has won two Thea Awards: in 2003 for the CinéMagique attraction and in 2015 for the Bistrot Chez Rémy restaurant.
Visitors reach the park by taking RER line A from Paris to Marne-la-Vallée Chessy station, located directly at the resort entrance. Main pathways are paved and easy to walk even in rainy weather, though some attractions may close during poor conditions.
The park's symbol is the Earffel Tower, a water tower topped with Mickey Mouse ears, modelled on the tower at the Walt Disney Studios lot in Burbank, California. It echoes a similar structure that once stood at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida. The park opened on 16 March 2002 with only three of its nine planned attractions ready.
