Indiana Jones et le Temple du Péril, Steel roller coaster in Disneyland Park, France.
Indiana Jones et le Temple du Péril is a steel roller coaster at Disneyland Park near Paris. The train takes riders through a loop and curving sections on a compact track layout.
The attraction opened in July 1993 as the first Disney coaster with an inversion. Between 2000 and 2004 it ran backward before returning to the original direction.
The queue winds past an excavation camp and temple ruins that recall adventure digs from the 1930s. Bamboo fences and weathered stone blocks line the path to the loading station.
Riders must be at least 140 cm (4 ft 7 in) tall and are secured with shoulder restraints. The coaster runs fast and flips upside down, so visitors prone to dizziness or nausea should take note.
During the years of backward operation, the ride began with the loop, which turned the entire sequence upside down. Some visitors only realized they were rolling backward late into the course.
