Disneyland Paris, Entertainment resort in Marne-la-Vallée, France
Disneyland Paris is a leisure complex east of Paris that includes two theme parks with different themed areas, hotels, restaurants, and a shopping district. The site spreads across a large area where rides, attractions, stages for live shows, and gardens are connected by a network of walkways and a lakeside promenade.
The complex opened in April 1992 as the first Disney resort in Europe after several years of construction and planning. Over the following decades, new areas, attractions, and a second park were added to expand the offering and increase visitor numbers.
Families from across Europe come here to explore different themed lands that combine American entertainment culture with European fairy tales and stories. Visitors experience shows and parades adapted to local holidays and seasons, often blending French and international elements together.
Visitors arrive easily by train at Marne-la-Vallée-Chessy station, which sits directly in front of the park entrances and offers connections from Paris and other French cities. It helps to arrive early in the day to reduce waiting times, and to bring a jacket or rain cover if the weather looks changeable.
The gardens and green spaces hold over 300,000 trees and shrubs specially chosen to provide color and structure throughout the year. Beneath the main streets run utility tunnels that allow staff and supplies to move unseen between different areas, keeping the atmosphere undisturbed for visitors.
