RC Racer, Steel roller coaster in Walt Disney Studios Park, France
RC Racer is a steel roller coaster in Walt Disney Studios Park in Chessy, France, featuring a giant U-shaped track that sends riders back and forth along a 25-meter (82-foot) high structure. The cars reach speeds of 80 kilometers per hour (50 miles per hour) as they swing through the arc, creating brief moments of weightlessness at the highest points.
The ride opened in August 2010 as part of the park's tenth anniversary celebration and belonged to the new Toy Story Playland expansion. It added another family attraction to Walt Disney Studios Park within the themed area inspired by the successful Pixar film series.
RC Racer recreates the world of Andy from Toy Story, where visitors experience rides on an oversized Hot Wheels track in a garden setting.
Visitors must be at least 120 centimeters (47 inches) tall to ride, and each cycle lasts only a few minutes. Each run carries twenty guests in five rows of seats, which can lead to longer wait times during busy periods.
Linear induction motors drive the cars and provide smooth acceleration throughout the entire U-shaped track. This technology ensures the ride always reaches the same intensity regardless of the load or external conditions.
