Tour Ariane

Tour Ariane is an office skyscraper in Puteaux that rises 152 meters with 36 floors featuring a concrete facade, aluminum shielding, and distinctive porthole-shaped windows. The building accommodates around 4,000 workers and is served by 19 elevators connecting the various levels.

The tower was completed in 1975 by architect Jean de Mailly as part of the second generation of tall buildings in La Défense. It arose during a period when French business districts were rapidly modernizing and new building styles were replacing earlier urban restrictions.

The tower takes its name from Greek mythology and embodies the confidence of French business culture in the 1970s. Its distinctive oval windows and aluminum shields remain recognizable features that shape how the La Défense skyline looks today.

The building is a modern office center with good vertical connections through its numerous elevators, making movement between floors straightforward. Keep in mind that this is a large working building, so watch for marked pathways and avoid entering private office areas.

A renovation project begun in 2024 reuses 90 percent of the original glazing and 85 percent of the aluminum shielding in the rebuild. This rehabilitation reduces the building's energy consumption by 30 percent while keeping its recognizable exterior appearance intact.
