Aiguille Verte

Aiguille Verte is a summit in the Bornes Massif reaching approximately 2045 meters, distinguished by its marlstone composition that defines its characteristic shape. This geological makeup creates the distinctive ridged appearance visible from surrounding valleys.

The peak formed through tectonic movements during the creation of the Alps millions of years ago. These geological processes continue to shape the mountain landscape and its composition today.

Herders in the area have long used this peak as a natural compass when guiding their flocks across the mountain meadows. The summit serves as a familiar landmark that helps them navigate the surrounding pastures.

The climb from the village requires intermediate hiking experience and covers roughly 800 meters of elevation gain. Sturdy footwear and adequate water are essential, as the route crosses exposed alpine terrain.

From this summit you can simultaneously see the Aravis Range, Bornes Massif, and Mont Blanc on clear days. This exceptional viewpoint allows hikers to observe three major mountain regions from a single location.
