Tabori church

Tabori Church is a stone building set on a hillside above the Abanotubani district of Tbilisi. The structure commands views across the city toward the Sulfur Baths below and the fortress that rises nearby.

Tabori Monastery was founded centuries ago and has continuously served as a religious center in Tbilisi. Despite the city's many transformations over time, this site has remained a place of worship and spiritual life.

The church serves as a gathering place where local Orthodox Christians come together for worship and community life. Religious services and devotions remain central to how residents connect with their faith and each other in this hillside location.

To reach the church, you climb uphill from the Abanotubani area, a walk that takes roughly half an hour. The path is now marked with concrete steps and viewing areas, making the ascent easier to navigate.

The site received modern concrete steps and viewing platforms added in 2023, bringing contemporary infrastructure to this ancient religious location. These improvements have made the holy site easier to visit while preserving its historical character.
