Kazbegi national park

The park spans 1,446 square kilometers of alpine meadows, glacial lakes, and mountainous terrains at elevations ranging from 1,400 to 5,033 meters above sea level.

The Georgian government established Kazbegi National Park in 2007 to protect the natural ecosystems and cultural monuments of the Caucasus Mountains region.

The Gergeti Trinity Church, positioned at 2,170 meters elevation within the park boundaries, represents centuries of Georgian Orthodox Christian architectural traditions.

Visitors access the park through the town of Stepantsminda, where multiple guesthouses and hotels provide accommodations throughout the spring and summer seasons.

Mount Kazbek, the third-highest peak in Georgia at 5,033 meters, contains 135 square kilometers of permanent snow and ice fields within the park territory.
