Moore Glacier, Glacial formation in Northeast Greenland National Park, Greenland
Moore Glacier extends for 30 kilometers in length and 4 kilometers in width, flowing northwest between the H. H. Benedict Range and Bertelsen Glacier.
Robert Peary named the glacier after Charles Moore, who gained President William McKinley's support for Peary's polar explorations against Navy opposition.
The glacier represents an essential part of Greenland's natural heritage, with its Danish name Moore Gletscher reflecting the region's linguistic traditions.
Scientific research activities at Moore Glacier include the operation of an automatic weather station, installed between 2006 and 2010 for climate monitoring.
The glacier terminates at Bliss Bay's southeastern shore, where permanent ice blocks the water, with Stjernebannertinde peak rising 1,433 meters nearby.
