Lungomare, Opatija Riviera

The Lungomare stretches for 12 kilometers along the Adriatic Sea, connecting the towns of Volosko, Opatija, Icici, Ika, and Lovran with a paved path.

The construction of this seaside walkway began in 1889 during the Austro-Hungarian era, with the final section to Lovran completed in 1911.

The pathway features nineteenth-century architecture, including notable structures like Villa Angiolina and the Girl with Seagull statue representing local maritime heritage.

The entire route follows a flat terrain suitable for walking year-round, with numerous benches, restaurants, and access points to beaches along the way.

Mediterranean vegetation grows naturally between the stone walls and the sea, creating a mixture of cultivated gardens and wild coastal plants throughout the path.
