Bater

Bater is a small settlement in the Vinodol Valley near Novi Vinodolski situated in rolling hillside terrain. The area is defined by vineyard terraces and scattered houses typical of this rural region.

The settlement originated as part of Frankopan holdings in the 13th century when the entire Vinodol region was under their control. These feudal arrangements established patterns that shaped the area for centuries to come.

The settlement is deeply connected to wine cultivation, a practice that shapes how locals interact with the land and organize their daily routines. Walking through the area, you notice how vineyards define the landscape and structure the community's way of life.

The area is best explored on foot, with paths running through the vineyards and between houses. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and expect a quiet rural setting with few commercial facilities.

The settlement is remarkably small, with very few permanent residents who dedicate themselves almost entirely to wine production. Despite its limited size, it is part of a network of 20 settlements that together form the broader administrative region.
