Monasterboice, Christian monastery in County Louth, Ireland.

The monastic complex contains three decorated high crosses, two medieval churches, and a round tower reaching 28 meters into the sky.

Saint Buithe established this religious center in the late 5th century, which remained active until its decline following the creation of Mellifont Abbey in 1142.

The crosses at the site display detailed biblical scenes carved in stone, representing early medieval Irish religious art and craftsmanship techniques.

The national monument remains open throughout the year, allowing visitors to examine the ancient structures and explore the continuing cemetery grounds.

The round tower features a preserved entrance door positioned 3.5 meters above ground level, requiring a ladder for medieval access.
