Glencree German War Cemetery

Glencree German War Cemetery is a burial ground near Dublin containing 134 graves within a stone-walled enclosure. Flat granite markers are arranged in rows, while a central Celtic high cross and chapel form the focal points.

The cemetery was established in 1961 to honor German military personnel who died during World War II, including Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine service members. It emerged from the need to provide a dignified burial place for soldiers who perished on Irish soil.
