Seefin Passage Tomb, Passage grave at Seefin Hill, Blessington, Ireland.

Seefin Passage Tomb is a stone cairn sitting on a hilltop near Blessington, measuring roughly 24 meters across and 3 meters high. A 7-meter passage leads to an inner chamber divided into five separate sections, showing careful Neolithic construction techniques.

This tomb was built around 3300 BCE during Ireland's Neolithic period and remained in use for many centuries afterward. An archaeological examination in 1931 revealed no human remains or artifacts inside, suggesting the site may have served different purposes over time.

The name comes from Irish 'Suí Fínn', meaning Fionn's seat, linking this place to the legendary figure Fionn MacCumhaill in Irish mythology. This connection shows how ancient sites remain woven into local storytelling and cultural memory.

The approach starts from a trail beginning near Kippure Bridge and follows a loop route of about 7.3 kilometers with 340 meters of elevation gain. Sturdy footwear and weather protection are important, as the path crosses open terrain with changeable conditions.

An Early Christian equal-armed cross was carved into one of the roof stones, showing the tomb remained accessible long after its original Neolithic purpose. This Christian marking reveals how pagan sites were repurposed and reinterpreted in later centuries.
