Our Lady of the Ark of the Covenant Church

The church stands at 756 meters above sea level with a statue of Mary carrying baby Jesus positioned on its rooftop.

The church was constructed in 1924 on the traditional site where the Ark of the Covenant remained for twenty years before King David moved it to Jerusalem.

The interior walls maintain a minimalist design with white paint and a central Latin cross in the apse, reflecting Catholic architectural principles.

The church complex includes craft and food stalls on Saturday mornings, providing visitors with local shopping opportunities.

A preserved 5th-century mosaic from the original Byzantine basilica remains visible on the church floor, connecting past and present structures.
