Ein Limon

Ein Limon is a natural spring with two large freshwater pools surrounded by granite rock formations and Mediterranean plants on the outskirts of Jerusalem. The pools are filled with clear water and sit within a rocky landscape dotted with vegetation.

The spring was an important water source and resting spot for travelers journeying to the city during Roman and Byzantine times. It served a practical role for people traveling through the region over many centuries.

Local families use the pools for swimming during warm months and organize meals beneath fig trees scattered throughout the area. The pools serve as a gathering place where people from nearby communities spend their leisure time together.

The location is reached via a marked trail that requires moderate physical effort and takes about an hour to walk. Wear proper hiking shoes and bring enough water, especially when visiting in warm weather.

The site contains an underground cave system filled with water that maintains a steady temperature year-round. This natural cooling effect becomes especially refreshing during the hottest summer days.
