Malkajgiri

Located at an elevation of 1296 meters, Malkajgiri extends over 35.8 square kilometers and contains multiple residential neighborhoods, educational institutions, and commercial areas.

The area derives its name from the Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple situated on the hills, and remnants of an ancient fort still exist near the Shaw Wallace Factory.

The population of 141,175 residents maintains strong educational values, resulting in a literacy rate of 87 percent, which ranks first in the Rangareddy district.

Malkajgiri connects to central Hyderabad through its railway junction station and the nearby Mettuguda metro station on the Blue Line of Hyderabad Metro.

The suburb forms part of India's largest Lok Sabha constituency and contains several water bodies, including Safilguda Nadimi cheruvu and Safilguda Banda cheruvu lakes.
