Akbar's Tomb, Mausoleum in Sikandra, India
The five-story sandstone structure rises in a pyramidal form, with each successive level becoming smaller and culminating in a white marble platform.
Emperor Akbar initiated the construction of the first level during his lifetime, while his son Jahangir completed the upper sections after 1605.
The building merges Persian, Turkish, and Indian architectural elements, displaying inscriptions from the Quran in golden letters on blue surfaces.
Visitors can reach the monument through the southern entrance gate, which leads to an expansive garden divided into four sections by walkways.
The burial chamber contains a false tomb on the ground floor, while the actual grave remains in an underground vault inaccessible to visitors.
